Behind the fame

On Sunday, I went to a press conference on mental health. Coincidentally, something tragic happened in Tin Shui Wai where a mentally-ill mother killed her two children before herself jumping from the 24th floor home. All three of them died. In the press conference, the media asked lots of questions to psychiatrist Lee Sing of the Chinese University on his thoughts about the incident, and rather ignored the survey itself. The original theme of the press conference was about generalized anxiety disorder. After the Q&A session, I walked up as he left because my boss wanted me to ask something for our paper. Then I over-heard him saying : “Today [response] was quite good. Tin Shui Wai helped us.” I was upset by how pragmatic he thinks of three lives and I doubt if patients should really trust him anymore.
